Very beautiful and unusual. I hope I don't offend by saying that the guitar looks very Finnish to me.

So friends,
Today was the day to put strings on it to hear this Juniper Parlor for the first time. I couldnt be happier with it; it is very dynamic and loud, very open and warm sounding parlor. It has rich natural reverb. My goal when building these parlors is to build a guitar for everyone. Jazz players, blues players, fingerpickers, etc. A lot of times you hear people referring these parlors as a blues machines. I disagree. They can be much much more. It was also the very first time for me to use masur birch fretboard. Seems to work fine. And definately eye catcher. This is built without tropical endangered species, without cites woods, only FST certified woods or local wood from Finland. I think it is proof enough that Im ready to skip tropical for local woods. Im gonna try and send a video clip of how she sounds Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Missed this before.
I'm still not convinced that I want a parlour guitar - but I love the build. I believe "masur birch" is a mutation of European white birch (Betula pendula), and often grows as crooked bushes. So getting large pieces can be hard. For curly birch, a very large Betula pendula is likely to have it in the lower parts. Finnish builders are now commonly using it on electric guitars. Otherwise, birch will work for necks, backs and sides.

I was lucky to obtain some larger pieces from trunks that fell over a storm a decade ago. All these boards are special to have both masur and curl mixed together.
