My English made Dave King L-00: Holds the door open for you whilst apologising profusely for no obvious reason, makes you a lovely cup of tea using a fine bone China tea set and brings you fresh scones with Strawberry Jam and clotted cream. All the while it’s speaking the Queen’s English and debating a contentious article in telegraph. In it’s spare time it’s a killer L-00 honking out raw 1920’s blues tunes but for now it’s polite, understanding and yet not overly emotional.

Well since we're applying personal qualities to these guitars, how about Bill Collings himself (rip). He built hotrods, went on Baja motorcycle trips with Lyle Lovett, not to mention made some pretty nice guitars along the way. Everything I've ever seen or heard about him made me like the kind of man he was.



It would have been pretty cool to spend an afternoon with him. Glad I have a couple his guitars.
