Default NGD....Bourgeois Custom D on the way...

I've played a 0-23 Lowden for the last 11 years and a Bourgeois OM since last year. Never thought I would part with the Lowden but my ear grew accustomed to the Bourgeois Country Boy OM mahogany with a torrefied sitka spruce top so I decided to go full tilt boogie with a dream desert island guitar. That is not to say that both of the guitars I Fed Ex'd to the dealer I traded them both to today were inferior in any way as they were both spectacular instruments. I decided to order a Bourgeois Custom D with a torrefied adirondack spruce top and braces as well as a torrefied mahogany neck, IR sides and back, complete AP animal protein glue construction, LR Baggs Lyric pickup system. It will arrive in Denver in 7 days and I'm excited beyond belief! I'm calling it my "I retired 5 months ago" award/reward.

Congrats!! Great choice!

As an owner of two Bourgy dreads, I think you'll be thrilled. Congrats on your retirement also.

Please post pics when it arrives. Don't forget to let it acclimate to room temperature for several hours (I'd let it sit in my living room for 24 hours, but that might be too long to bear).

Congrats on the Bourgeois. I love mine. Be interested in what lead you from the Lowden, that is my dream guitar.

Congrats on the Bourgeois. I've got an OMS 12 fret slothead. Loudest, deepest, most resonant guitar I've ever owned (and I've had one or two in the past 45 years) I still prefer playing my Froggy Hog K but the Bourgeois is the most luscious guitar on the planet!

Just remember...you're worth it.

Dana makes great guitars. I own a DB Signature OM that’s the best OM I’ve ever played. I hope (and expect ) you’ll be happy. I look forward to seeing some pictures and reading your review.

Congratulations. I’m a recent Bourgeois convert as well. Dana’s guitars are wonderful all around but I think he achieves particular “magic” with his torrefied Adi tops.

"...so I decided to go for broke full tilt boogie with a dream desert island guitar."

Your upcoming NGD is taking over your creative writing.

Congrats!

How are the neck profiles on these guitars in relation to others? I keep hearing how thin they are and I have an OMC on the line but keep hesitating to pull the trigger because I have always been a Collings owner and am worried about not liking a really thin neck.
