I gave it to a client about three years ago though because I had too many guitars sitting around. I bought it new. I didn't know it was a knock-off of anything. What guitar does it knock off? I bought it because of the sound. I asked for the flying Goose to be inlaid on the head stock when I bought it. I think I paid $400 for it. That was maybe 5 years ago. I put a Baggs active pick-up in it. --- Just remeasured my archtop. It's no knock-off. I've never seen one like it. 4 inches deep binding to binding. Add another 1/2" maybe for the rear hump. Anyone who plays it falls in love with it. It's hanging in my wife's restaurant right now.

In case Howard doesn't see this, the stick is the bridge height adjuster. It is a tapered strip of wood, and slides in/out under the saddle to raise/lower the action. The design is credited to James D'Aquisto, who called it the Accutone.
Works pretty well, but the stick can poke your wrist depending on how you play. Also, the treble-to-bass height proportion is fixed by the angle of the taper (unless you sand something to compensate).

As I said over in the Vintage Corner - wow, what wonderful guitars. Thank you for sharing. I gotta get done to New Jersey sometime, but my playing isn't nearly as strong as my love of archtops .
I have a 1954 L-7c and a 1938 Kalamazoo Kg-31; love 'em both for different uses.

Gorgeous guitars, guys and gals! Here are my contributions - a reverse chronological photo essay of every archtop I've owned. I've included both electric and acoustic archtops, but my preference these days is definitely for acoustics:
Collings AT16 - the only one that I currently have: 1958? Epiphone Century - this is my Grandpa's, but it's on loan with my dad (who doesn't play), so I play it a lot. Sounds phenomenal with flat wounds through a low wattage tube amp! Eastman AR810CE: Thorell Frank Vignola model: Benedetto Frank Vignola Standard: Eastman AR371: Gretsch Setzer Hot Rod: 1933 L-7, full (gorgeous) refinish, which was required due to a past owner trying to refinish it in natural and doing a hack job! This guitar was amazing, and is one of the few ones that I truly miss!

Too many photos for one post! Here are the rest:
Custom Benedetto Bambino: Bourgeois LC-4: Eastman AR904: Martin CF-2: Gretsch Brian Setzer: Benedetto Bambino - the first guitar I GAS'd over in probably 15 years. I blame it on the crazy 6 years of GAS that have followed! It's been a fun ride, that's for sure!!!

Here's my Artist Award (pictures from Archtop.com where I bought it):
its back: and its headstock: and me playing it: I have three other archtops, but none as photogenic as the AA, and I don't have any photos anyhow. Brad
