Well...I stopped at Robinsons shop on Friday for a preview of my guitar in its totally built state. It looks fantastic! Jake had it strung up and is working on the set up and final details. He is a true craftsman.
He did torture me by playing it for about 30 seconds....grinning the whole time. I am hopeful to get it on Thursday. The anticipation is killing me.

I just received a text....Sigh..........Major setback....not going into details, but, we are looking at a new neck from scratch....will not start it until after Hoxeyville.

Yes.....the snafu was a defective truss rod that snapped at the nut under minimal torque. The supplier told Jake, yeah we have had several of these break recently.
The new neck is being built now and may be ready for finish by the end of next week.

I think it was sent back to Jake and he dressed it as well as he could but that said, I was thinking about exploring sending it back to him and have him refinish the top. Not what anyone wants to hear during a build, but as all have said, it will be great in the end and 6 months from now, the extra wait won't seem so terrible!
