Well...I stopped at Robinsons shop on Friday for a preview of my guitar in its totally built state. It looks fantastic! Jake had it strung up and is working on the set up and final details. He is a true craftsman.

He did torture me by playing it for about 30 seconds....grinning the whole time.

I am hopeful to get it on Thursday. The anticipation is killing me.

LOL It is only 9:40 and I am at work until 5:00, then 30 minute drive to Robinsons shop...provided he is ready to hand it off to me. I am anxiously waiting his call telling me to pick up #66

Jake has been knee deep in finalizing the details for the Hoxeyville Music Festival next week (August 17-19). I am optimistic that it will be done as planned, but understand if it is not.

I will keep you posted.

BTW...Hoxeyville is a blast! Check out their website and line up.

Oh my. Sorry to hear that. I would say the silver lining has to be you know when he finally says come pick it up, you can be confident all is as it should be.

Hang in there.

So true....Jake will never hand off a guitar that is not right in every respect...after all, his name is on it.

I am hoping for a mid September delivery

Yes.....the snafu was a defective truss rod that snapped at the nut under minimal torque. The supplier told Jake, yeah we have had several of these break recently.

The new neck is being built now and may be ready for finish by the end of next week.

So close! I'm sure Jake will make it right for you.

You know I've got your first Robinson build (12 fret sloped shoulder) and the owner after you apparently let someone play it that was mighty mean to the top with a pick and put some deep scratches in it. I think it was sent back to Jake and he dressed it as well as he could but that said, I was thinking about exploring sending it back to him and have him refinish the top. The guitar is so beautiful (both in looks and tone) and every time I see those gouges, makes me sad (and kind of angry someone would do that).

I guess I'm not a Pre-War Guitar kind of customer!

Not what anyone wants to hear during a build, but as all have said, it will be great in the end and 6 months from now, the extra wait won't seem so terrible!
