It’s tough, even-grained, and ready to ring. It really brings out the sparkle in the richly striated back and sides. Speaking of which, I love the way the stripes in the rosewood bend towards the neck. It’s like the whole instrument is poised for action. This is a loud, full, and beautiful guitar, but it also knows intuitively how to blend into a mix. The overtones in each chord hitch sidecars right up to the fundamental, lending balance and power. The treble strings glisten like dew, while the bass strings pour warm buckets of rain over your head. Simply put, this is the sound many lovers of American music conjure in their mind’s ear in response to the word “guitar”.
