Unfamiliar with the D45 sound...hmmm. I didn't draw that inference from his initial post. It seemed to me that he was trying to decide between two Martin D45's or keep searching for a different 40 Series.

in short because it's an unwritten rule for some members to tell any OP that they've asked the wrong question

Add Yamaha LL56: top-grade woods, lots of abalone, tasteful snowflake fret markers, hand built by a single master craftsman, tap-tuned top, half the price of a d-45

Last D45 I owned was a really Nice guitar.

In my experience, playing the same two guitars on another day could produce completely different results... FWIW. First world problems are real!
