That mahogany is unbelievably pretty. Ralph Bown over here had a set like that a few years back (it was Cuban) but, alas, the sides cracked badly on bending and he had no more.

IMHO it's far nicer than The Tree visually and I'm betting will sound every bit as nice as well, and for a fraction of the $$$.

Cheers,
Steve

That thing is glorious looking, so far, Jason. That is some of the nicest mahogany I've ever seen. Leo has such a crisp, attractive aesthetic. His guitars, that is.

Thanks Marcus. I saw the fiddleback that Jason bought. It'll be a great set!

Thanks Dave. This is actually your doing after seeing your guitar at SBGC.

Different sounding but every bit the equal of Rosewood.

I think you'll be extremely pleased with this guitar - not to mention, the wood is absolutely stunning !!!
Thanks Simon. I always wanted a mahogany but was hesitant. This is there combo wood and size and features I've been looking for.

Thanks Steve. I love it too. The tree is very nice, but way out of my price range.

The neck profile is going to be really uncomfortable. I think you should get him to re-do the shoulders.

Very nice! I don't think I've seen Leo build with abalone/paua in a rosette before, so this should be special. Might have to pay a visit to his shop now that I'm back in the Northern California...

abalone is something new for him. I wanted something more traditional looking rosette, but with modern take. He did an awesome job surrounding it with ebony.

Smile Yum!

Spectacular mahogany for sure! I also really like the original end graft, and the rosette is super cool, too.

Have fun and thanks for sharing with us all

Much agree. I love it! He had told me in the past he'd consider abalone but leaned very heavily toward woods.

Leo told me he doesn’t like seafood.
