Default Need help with preamp/di for input to pa at church

Hello all,
I have been using my Yamaha LS6 at church for 4 or 5 years. I usually just plug into the church's DI (old Rapco db-100). The pickup is the zero impact under saddle pickup that comes stock. Currently, I have no ability to shape the sound. I was thinking about buying my own di box, and that has morphed into thinking about shaping the tone in some way. i have been looking at the Boss ad-2, among other things. It has some compression and reverb built in, and I've seen a couple of youtube videos that sound pretty good. I've also read where some people use something like a Boss ge-7 into a di to be able to control tone that way. My budget needs to stay under 150.00 or so.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

Depends on just how much 'tone shaping' you want to do. Looking ultra simple? Boss AD-2 or TC BodyRez are pretty simple. Need some actual EQ'ing? Baggs PARA DI. These can be found used for around $100 or less.

You could have a look at a Fishman Platinum Stage EQ/DI($150) or something like a Zoom MS-50G ($100) which gives you dozens of effects to play around with (including EQs, compressors, reverbs etc.).
BBE Acoustimax pedal ($150) is also very powerful with a good EQ section.

I'll second the suggestion for the Para DI. Nice gear and made well.

I've used a Fishman Pro EQ Platinum for many years (decades maybe). I really like the way it sounds & the EQ & compressor have saved my rear on more than one occasion.

Even with other, more expensive, gear at my disposal I keep coming back to my Pro EQ Platinum. I believe they're about $150 new. I'd give one a listen if you have the chance.

The Fishman Loudbox Mini would give you the tone coloring in an acoustic direction for use with a mixer, along with the multi function of also being a solo amp for the Singer Song Writer. It's also less expensive than buying individual quality pedals that are designed with the acoustic guitarist in mind.

Thanks to all that replied. I found a good deal on a LR Baggs ParaDI on Reverb. I read a bunch of reviews on it and I think it will do the job.
