I'm just sitting over here waiting for #253.

I try to put it out of my mind and have been somewhat successful, so far.

I haven't heard anything but based on what Ed told me the last time I bugged him, I haven't expected to. I haven't asked for an update because, to be honest, I'd rather he spend his time of things more productive than answering my childish emails of "Are we there yet? Are we there yet?! How about now? Are we there yet?!?!"

I wish he’d post a quick update on Instagram or Facebook just saying “hey, these are the serial numbers I’m on right now” just so people aren’t kept in the dark. I don’t think that’s asking too much, but then again I could be wrong.

It's funny, because of your post, I went in search of Instagram / Twitter / Facebook to see if I could find anything but fell down the rabbit hole of looking at beautiful guitars. After a while I literally asked myself "What was I looking for?"

Curious to know what the tonal profile Ed's guitars have.

Going for the traditional vintage (gibson/martin) tone, or something modern?

His guitars have an understated elegance I like, especially with the all wood theme.

I'm in Georgia. Just biding my time playing a 50-year-old Yamaha beater.

In response to another thread, my build is going to lean towards Gibson J. Ed has built one like it before. But, he told me that it would still sound like a Halcyon and that's just fine with me. It will have some characteristics of a J though. I think it will be the perfect blend!

Default Bone saddle for your Halcyons?

It seems that the Halcyons come standard with synthetic nuts and saddles.

Has anyone installed a real bone saddle and what difference in sound if any did that make?

Thanks! Pippin

I had Ed do bone nut, saddle and bridge pins for my NL-00 and it sounds outstanding. I haven’t tried it with Tusq, so I can’t tell you about the difference.

Woohoo! #246 should be started this week. I don't know how long the build time will be or how many are in process at any one time but at least that gives folks an idea.

This is great news! That means 249 will be very close too! What do you have in the works?

An SJ body with Lutz top and Walnut back / sides. Nothing too outrageous but it will be special to me.

I’ve always wanted a walnut guitar! Sounds like it’s going to be a beauty!

Congrats, you guys... hope to see some in-progress photos soon! I'm still trying to save up for a new down payment.
