I think he meant the Composite Acoustics - Cargo. I love mine too. I use it in pit orchestras, where space is tight. It plays like a standard size guitar.

For practice/playing unplugged in hotel rooms, or occasionally amplified for playing with others, then I've been very happy with the Snap Dragon. Not only fits in the overhead, but the size/folding mechanism means most of your carry-on space is still available for your clothes and toiletries, enough for a week trip.
https://snap-dragon-guitars.com/trav...gon-traxe-noir If you need loud unplugged volume, then I'd go with one of the full-size guitars others are recommending. The trade off is that the one carry-on bag limit will mean having to check a bag with the rest of your stuff. |

I couldn't be happier with my Voyage-Air. I upgraded to the Tusq saddle and nut.

The Martin JR 000 cutaway fits in overhead. It has a cutaway. Its all solid woods.

I have a Composite Acoustic Cargo and it's wonderful. You can buy a used one for a decent price. The sound is far better than the Baby Taylor I had before and it's virtually indestructible.

might be pricey compared to other travel guitars but the Furch Little Jane is amazing feat of engineering.
Edit: oops, no cutaway. sorry, i didn't read the OP closely enough on his requirements. Last edited by jcpharm; 09-24-2020 at 08:15 AM. Reason: oops |

Another vote for Journey OF-660, the guitar is great and the backpack that comes with it is perfect for carrying on.

I have a Journey OF660 and an Emerald X7 nylon. Both are great travelers. They both fit in the over head compartment with the Journey having a size advantage ( backpack/ carry on size). Though I value solid wood instruments I would be concerned to have one as my travel guitar. I carry either carbon fiber guitar from Arctic conditions to equatorial heat and have zero concerns about the instrument.
Good luck with your search, Tom |

This is why I, too, own a Journey OF660. Literally, no worries.

Most Hard Rock Hotels offer free use of Fender guitars when you stay there.

Not a small backpack. In fact, the Voyage Air backpack is larger than the dimensions of most airlines and many actual overhead bins.

+1 for Journey OF660. If u are travelling via plane I think it is hard to beat. The bag fits into the overhead compartment easily n you will be stress free.
Also being carbon fibre you will not have to worry about humidity or heat.

Another vote for the Composite Acoustics Cargo. I’ve had mine since ‘08 and have travelled on airlines with it in overhead without a problem. Indestructible and plays and sounds far better than one would expect for such a small guitar.

+1 for Voyage Air. A “regular” guitar in all respects (scale length, nut width, body size) means that practice feels like practice, without any sense of compromise. But the folding neck means that you can travel with it. It goes in the overhead bin most of the time (not on small commuter jets), or in the coat closet. And I feel relatively untroubled gate checking it.
