Unhappy Taylor 754ce 12-string neck replacement

I have a 2004 754 Taylor 12-string with a broken neck that can not be repaired.
Anyone have a spare Taylor 12 string neck hanging around your shop? I know this is a very long shot, but, just thought I'd check.

I have a 2013 Taylor 455 that fell (long story) and the headstock shattered. Taylor made a new neck and returned it to me in two months. It was NOS, 3 years old and they had to build a neck - Taylor did not have a “stock” neck for replacement. Luckily for me the repair was covered under warranty.

Why can it not be repaired, everything is repairable, got photos?

Hey BT55 - Thanks for your reply. Don't think my 2004 will fall under warranty anymore. SO it will probably cost me a pretty penny to have them make me a new one. Was just trying to avoid that..... oh,well,it's only money....right?
I haven't talked with Taylor about it, so I better do that.
Thanks again - Old Buffalo.

If you are the original purchaser, the warranty would still apply. However, most warranties do not cover damage, just manufacturing defects. It never hurts to ask - sometimes Taylor goes far above and beyond. Call up Taylor and speak with someone. This is probably better done as a phone call than an anonymous email. They will want some photos and the whole story, but the CS rep will give you their direct email address once you've made contact. A high end guitar like a 754 is certainly worth some expense to repair. And Steve (mirwa) has posted some pretty incredible neck repair stories, complete with photos.

There is a current post over on the UTGF where a fellow in Denmark recently acquired a 110 with a totaled body but a good neck. He was looking for a body to go with that neck. It would be 1-11/16" wide at the nut being a 100 series guitar, instead of 1-7/8", so pretty narrow for a twelve string.

A new neck will cost you somewhere between 500 and 1200 dollars dependant on model, a used neck, if you can find one, around 250-350... 12 string spare Taylor neck is very rare to find IMO.

This Taylor neck was repaired, I charged the customer 235 and the guitar was given back setup with new strings, if you have a photo of your neck, someone here may be local to you and be willing to do the repair, or at least give you some advice on the practicality of repairing it or make a new one

Steve

Glad some people appreciate them.

Its not hard for anyone to do this stuff, just take your time and then do it, I see many and I mean many jobs that are half done (referring to not finished, not, half baked repairs), its because people fear what may happen, my theory is just do it, then if something happens deal with that.
