The binding should be done by tomorrow, just in time for fireworks! Meanwhile, here is more than a hint of what it will be.

The first section of the back binding going on:

Fourth section going on now. Here is the side scraped clean including the 1st and 3rd sections:

Almost time to go get cleaned up for 7/4 dinner guests. Linda has been baking for days, but I am to be the grill man.

Here is the Limba JB-15 with binding and graft installed:

That is just incredibly beautiful. Is that much color and figure common in black limba? If it is I want to laminate everything I own with it! I think this is my favorite guitar yet.

My previous Black Limba guitar sounded fantastic to me, and sold to a fellow who fell for it on hearing this sound clip. Pretty though it is, it does not compare aesthetically to the current project IMO. Here is a link to its page on my site. These are the only two sets of Black Limba I’ve run across, so I don’t know what is average.

Being in the middle of the binding process, Laurelyn is working hard for an hour and then not working at all for an hour and half while the glue dries. This means I can get a it of work done on my own projects. But not the Limba, as it must stay in step with her project. So I am getting going on Tom B'sox's JB-L00.

Being Gibson rooted, It has a single ring rosette, though I did embellish it a bit more than Gibson would have, I think.

Nice surprise for me!!! I like it! Very classy with a touch of bling! I am even more excited about that top as I recall the bells of St. Mary's when we were tapping on that....if I recall, it had over 6 seconds of sustain just from the tap!

Thanks Bruce.

Default Price increase.

This is a good time to mention a coming change in my business structure. I last raised my prices in 2010, which was an inauspicious time for it as it turned out. I feel that it is time to do it again, as 8 years represents a fair bit of inflation. This may be my last increase ever! Not sure of AGF policy on mentioning numbers, so I'll let those of you who may care look up my current prices on my web site right HERE, and hope you able to add $4K to the base line as of August 12, 2018, the day after VIGF. Until that moment, the old prices remain in effect, that's the ones on the site currently. My receipt of your deposit will guarantee you the price of that moment.

That gives you a full month and bit to realize the opportunity the moment affords, and take advantage of it. After 8/12/2018 I intend to go tough love. You have your notice.
