That's funny I have a new series I have been working on for about a year that I am going to introduce in the fall that I am calling the Artist Series. They won't be $2500.00 though But they will have a better price point than my Signature guitars.

Mark,
Please take a look at my site. I'd be glad to do a wedge design for you.
Thanks,
Pete

Pete, nice website. You will need to post some build photographs for us custom guitar buffs.

In my opinion, if you're trying to get into this market, he'd be at least worth a phone call.

I have owned Jonathan Razo's #3 and #4 guitars since the day he showed them to me. I'm currently working with him on a commisioned guitar #7 and he is a pleasure to work with, very creative with fine workmanship especially for a someone so new to the craft. Echoing what Mike and Brett said...he is one you should at least talk to when deciding on a luthier for a custom build at an attractive price point.

I'd say choosing a luthier for a handbuilt guitar, at a price point in the lower part of the range, is a balancing act: expectations, cost, and risk. I recently went through this, and based on my expectations and acceptable risk, I found a few luthiers in the $3.5K to $4K range that I seriously considered, and a few more in the $4K to $5K range. But again, this was based on my criteria and that may not be the same as yours.

At just over $5k, Matt Mustapick will build a guitar that will exceed your expectations. His OMs are glorious. He'll build with a wedge.

My starting price is $4500 with a discount to AGF members. I am also working on a model that I hope to show before the end of the year. It is a natural series that has a no bling factor and a satin finish. Not sure yet so much about how low the price will be till im finished.

My base price is (I feel) a very good deal at $3500 and I have successfully built with a wedged body before and would be open to doing it again.

Where are you located? It is always nice to be able to visit with the person you are thinking about starting a project with.
