Default GameChanger Audio LIGHT Pedal - Optical Spring Reverb

GameChanger Audio LIGHT Pedal - Optical Spring Reverb

I’ve been disillusioned with anything and everything digital lately. Trying to find a non digital reverb pedal is challenging. But this seems super interesting.

Anyone tried this?

That pedal was reviewed in the August 2023 issue of Vintage Guitar Magazine. It seems versatile and great sounding, and with its genuine internal spring, you can even give it a kick in the butt with your foot to get that vintage spring-reverb crash.

Out of curiousity, why would you want a spring reverb for acoustic guitar? That's not typically the go to reverb for acoustic guitars. A nice plate/hall would be best. I haven't tried this one, I am just not sure if it would give you the desired result.

For what it's worth, I tend to find that certain analog tones don't jive well with acoustics. It's why a lot of musicians tend to use digital delays. They just cut a bit better.

The optical mode looked interesting, smoother than a true spring. I’m gonna give it a shot… really hoping to go all analog. But yes, digital hall reverbs are generally pretty good.

Thanks To Goodness, RSchultz! It's nice to have other AGF folks putting their butts out there instead of hoping others would buy something. I'm looking forward to your first-hand review!

Way cool pedal, and the optical is an interesting take on spring... smoother. But in the end, as others have said, spring isn't good on acoustic. Believe me, I tried to make it work, but a spring reverb or optical spring is just too harsh, jangly, abrupt for me.

So I returned it. I generally prefer a room or hall reverb.
