Default Which adhesive for pickguard?

I have on order a Maccassar ebony pickguard for my Faith 'Mars'; a genuine Faith spare part. Assuming it doesn't have a self-adhesive backing, what would be the best adhesive to use with the PU finish of the guitar?

Thank you John.

Edit; postman delivered the pickguard shortly after my post. It has an adhesive backing and is now fitted and matching the rest of the ebony on my guitar.
