Default NGD Broadcaster

Wish it was a vintage, but dont need a second mortgage! Fender did a great job on this one. Only complaint (and a very minor one) is the custom tweed case is the heaviest guitar case Ive ever lifted. Even the UPS worker commented it was really heavy for a guitar box! The guitar comes in just under 7 lbs.

What a beautiful guitar, and the case is also a beauty! Under 7#? That’s a great weight. Lots of luck and enjoy.

Congratulations.

I keep eyeballing one of these or a 50s original. Just not sure about the U neck.

Fantastic! Any chance you'll rub out the 'Broadcaster' decal so that you end up with a nocaster?

I wondered after all these years if Fender had to get permission from Gretsch to name (re-name) another guitar Broadcaster.

Fender produces and distributes Gretsch guitars (but not ownership) so perhaps that's why Broadcaster can be used.

Beautiful guitar, congrats.
What’s the neck like on it?

Also, I’d check that 11 lb case for a false bottom with a hidden guitar, or “sumpin’”.

I really like the 50s style necks. Fat. But I have large hands (8.5 size gloves)and know many prefer more modern profiles. Its a semi-gloss nitro finish, which plays nice, but not as nice as their new “satinized” urethane necks. Its not my favorite, but very nice overall, by early impressions.

Of course its water under the bridge now, but Fender used a “c” in Broadcaster, as where Gretsch used a “k”. I wonder if fender had challenged in court, we’d all be playing Broads instead of Teles?

Very nice. And the Broadcaster logo inside the case is très classe!
