That must have been the SG Junior (the Special has 2 pickups). Those are tone rockers! Do you still have it?

A Kent Les Paul knockoff from the late 70s or early 80s, like this one:

Have no idea where my parents got it, maybe the classifieds or a friend.

I think the one I had was like this one. Suzuki something or the other. I think I paid about $100 for it. I didn't keep it very long. Bought it maybe around 1988?s-l400.jpegnew0exnbc6yq0ivcq7n8.jpg

A Harmony H-802. My father ordered it from JcPenny’s. It took about 7 weeks to arrive. It came in a cardboard guitar box with a pitch pipe, pick, cord, and 5 watt amp. Oh, maybe a strap.

The strings sat a mile from the board. I didn’t know anything about guitars. My father was self taught and got me started. But he could barely change strings so in then many years I had it...it was NEVER setup properly. But, I learned.

My next guitar was soooo much “better”. A Lotus Strat in white with a white pick guard. Idk about “better”...maybe a little.

Funny how I’d love to have both those back now. Maybe I need to hunt both down.

First electric guitar that I bought new was a Carvin SC90 with lots of options on it, in '00.

First one I owned used was a 1978 Gibson RD Artist in Ebony that I got in the early '80s. I ended up with two of them (same model year and color), and probably should have kept at least one of them.

First electric guitar (and my first guitar as well) was a '60's Epiphone Coronet that I bought at the pawn shop when I was 11 years old, got a wee '70's Fender Champ amp that day as well (sold my Raleigh BMX bike to get the money).

My black BC Rich Warlock Platinum series I bought in 1989 was my second electric. I GASed over that guitar for a couple of years. I still have it, put a SD Invader in the bridge, but I haven't played it in years (other than a few minutes here and there).

El Degas (MIJ) Les Paul Custom copy. White with maple fingerboard. Not the greatest (had some issues with the electronics) but not the worst either.

Mine was a 1965 Zenon Dual-Pickup Japanese-made Electric Guitar with the gold-foil pickups. It was a $30 Christmas gift bought at Kresge's downtown Rochester store and didn't sound too bad given its price.
