Default Anyone here has a man cave?

Long story short, mom in law is moving in with us (pray for me [emoji23]) and to make room for her we had to throw away a lot of stuff. End result is two clear rooms, one for mom, and one for...me? Yep, first thing I did was move all my gear in there. Wife is not a fan of my idea, but she’s open to make it an entertainment/guest room. Yeah I already bought some sound proofing panels. Let’s see how this goes.

On a basic level I woud advise replacing your guitar stands with wall holders.

The stoll looks a bit uncomfortable for lumbar support.

Are you Content with your keyboard choice?

Yeah wall guitar hangers are going. It will save space, and look good. The keyboard is adequate to say the least. I would prefer one with weighed keys, but this is mostly for my wife. The stool is ok enough. Not the most comfortable, but the playing position is excellent.

No man cave here. Not enough space in our home.

I'm more concerned for you about the MIL moving in. My MIL moved in with us in 2018. She is the most ungrateful and selfish human being I've ever met. She lies to us when the truth would work. She and my wife fought every day.

About a year ago, her health took a turn for the worse and she was hospitalized, had most of one foot amputated and entered a rehab/assisted living place. She was there when the pandemic hit. She talks about "when I come home", but that ain't happening. She is now almost completely helpless and requires constant attention.

I could go on... hopefully, your experience will be much more rewarding.

Good luck with the man cave... you may be spending most of your time escaping to it!

Yeah, I have "my" room. It's a small spare bedroom that serves as an office, music room, meditation and yoga space, and my closet is in it too - my wife got the whole closet in the master bedroom. It's only about 130-140 square feet, but it works for me. Here are a couple pics of the guitar area and the whole room for context...

Before and after shots
On the opposite end of the room is the set up for the entertainment center, workout area and a space for quality Daddy and rug-rat play time.
When I asked the wife if she wanted a she-shed, her response was all I need is a garden. It’s right out side the man cave.

I hate these kind of questions - I'm an old Brit.

I bought this three bed house in 1980 intending to move within three years. Then I met a skinny woman in a pub.

We are still in his tiny house 40 years later.

I don't have a "man cave" I have a "man cupboard"

lifetime bachelor (so far, anyway!), lifetime singer/songwriter/guitarist...

My ENTIRE HOME is my "man-cave"... always has been, for the past 50 years or so - although there were times when it was "room" that was my home!

I prefer the word "den". Just sounds better to me.
The dads in Leave It to Beaver, My Three Sons, Ozzie & Harriet, etc. all had "dens".

Oh nice space! My guest room is quite small. I want to make it a workout room as well but I have to play around with space saving.

I have a music room/library/office, but I don't call it a man cave. My wife has a sewing room/office. We've them since the kids left the nest decades ago (they're both in their 40s).
