Default 'TEA' - Should I laugh or should I cry?

This video has caused a bit of a 'stir' over here recently. I remember watching an episode of Frasier once in which he criticized British cooking. However, I laughed because in the context of the episode it was funny but I wondered where he might have got this impression from.

Now I realized he must have been watching You Tube videos like this one.

Whilst under the realm of Queen Victoria, British Primeminister, William Gladstone wrote this of 'Tea' ;-
“If you are cold, tea will warm you; If you are too heated, it will cool you; If you are depressed, it will cheer you; If you are excited, it will calm you.”

I think had he seen this video he might have added: -
"If made this way, it may kill you....."

Enjoy your tea everyone - no matter how you choose to make it.

If, like many of us Brits, you take your tea seriously, this is an interesting read.

Enjoy your tea however you make it (you can even enjoy a fruit infusion if you like - just please don’t call it tea!).

Regards,
Clive

This looks quite interesting. To think tea could have it's roots buried in so many dark associations makes you wonder if we should be boycotting the stuff now.

I wouldn't.
I don't see how it's helpful to punish the people working in today's tea industry for what took place long before they were born.

It's not the product itself that's naughty.
It's people, and in this case people who are long dead.

Whilst I respect the American's concept to overtrun the stupid slowness of 'British' kettle tea, I would cry because she was tehn idiotic enough to think that it could in anyway be correct or 'lawful' to add the tea bag after the milk. But it sould like they are stealing the Tea brand from us.

I agree completely. Sorry but I meant to put a after my comment as a hint of sarcasm in this ever maddening world.

Ah, thanks.
Got it.

... and I agree with your sentiment.
PCness, taken to the extreme, can get silly.

When it comes to tea, I say make it any way that makes you happy.
Let others make it any way that makes them happy.

People vary ... tea makers vary.
