Default USB mixer to Android via USB-B to USB-C cable

Proof it works. Using my phone's camera, the audio part is coming from my Yamaha MG10XU mixer (out with UBS-B) into my Samsung Note 10+ (in via USB-C) using a $10 cable I bought off Amazon. I haven't tried using it for many other apps yet, but it was cool...I got a phone call and was talking through my mic (Sennheiser e965 through an X-Vive U3C) into my mixer and monitoring via my K240 AKG headphones). Call sound quality was awesome. I did try the "House Party" app, but don't think the mixer sound worked with that. I did try Zoom, but didn't have anyone at the time to Zoom with so I'm not 100% sure it will work with Zoom. Anyway, I uploaded the video (with audio, of course) to Instagram in case anyone is curious as to how the quality is. I forgot to eq some more bass out of the vocal mic. It has a bass roll off engaged, but I was right up on the mic. The guitar is my Yamaha CSF1M into a Yamaha THR10II going to the mixer via the headphone out of the amp with 1/8" stereo to dual rca.

So it works! I wish I had a way to tell with Zoom if it works. If I get a chance to try it, I'll let you know.

Interesting!
So you're just using the phones own video recorder, but having it set for an external mic?

I guess so. The audio is definitely coming from my mixer because the amp was muted due to the headphone jack being hooked up, and I could hear the delay effect (coming from my mixer) on my vocal as well as the chorus effect on my guitar (coming from the amp). I didn't really have to change any settings on the phone. In the same way a computer "recognizes" a peripheral USB device, my phone "recognizes" the mixer as a USB device.

Hey again, I've just finally ordered myself one of these cables to give this a try.
Can you please confirm that the USB out on the mixer is pre or post effects?
Thanks in advance.

Awesome, thanks for the confirmation. I have the same mixer, but thought I saw somewhere that it was Pre-effects.

I just ran my headphones through the mixer's headphone jack.

Yes, I did the same thing. I was trying to figure out a way to use this setup for ZOOM, but there's no way to get the sound back to the headphones with my analog mixer. I might be able to do this with my XR18 digital mixer, however, but I haven't tried that yet.
