I think the OP's one on a practical level - perhaps extended with 'please overtake nicely .Have a great day!'

The road to our house is under construction and the speed limit is 30mph until they finish. But people want to drive much, much faster - I drive the speed limit. So I made a sign to put in the back window of my Tacoma but my wife won't ride with me if the sign is in place - she thinks we'll get shot!

The sign reads -

This is what it's like DRIVING the SPEED LIMIT
Now you can go try it by yourself without me guiding you

I love that quote! Lots of good "bumper sticker" quotes so far!

I think your wife is very wise.

I could have used that sign during my days as a driving instructor. It reminds me of a pupil who found it very difficult to drive to the 30mph speed limit and I was constantly telling her to slow down. Then one day we were doing 30mph with a clear road in front of us and a long line of traffic behind. She said, "This is stupid - nobody drives at 30mph".

Out of desperation and half expecting to get a slap in the face I replied "Look in your mirror, all those people are only doing 30mph".

To my amazement she looked and said "Oh yes." and kept to the limit from that point onwards.

Two of my favorites:

"If you drink don't park...accidents cause people!"

"Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult!"

My goal is to see how many I can stack up behind me when I set the cruise. So far my record is 11 cars. The drivers behind me don't seem happy... don't know why, though; they passed the same speed limit sign I passed and I'm just as happy as I can be!

Speed limits are maximums.
But around here, most drivers think they are minimums.

"Turn signals are there to signal your intentions, not your accomplishments." - Paul Harvey

So many times I see a turn signal come on even as the wheel has already started the turn. What is the point?? Having ridden motorcycles for years, I can usually tell when a driver is going to change lanes or turn several seconds before they *apparently* know. Gotta ride defensively to survive.
