That is indeed an ambitious first build. It looks great, and the Brazilian is to die for! Maybe it was a good thing that you were forced to easing into using power tools.

As for the weather, I'm just happy that I missed any weather related issues during my class.

Love it, don't see all that many 12 strings these days it seems! That is a beauty all around.

And thank you Tom, much appreciated. Yes, interest in 12-strings seems to come in cycles. We had the 12-string (that Vance bought) hanging around our shop for a while. I really love their sound, so when that other one sold, we got started making this replacement. And actually fairly close in specs to the one Vance got. Mahogany works beautifully for 12’s and we had this set of curly African mahog begging for action. So then we says, “Let’s take it to B.I.G.(er) this year.”
Maybe someone else is looking for some jangle!

Steve

Holy Smokes, that is a BEAUTIFUL 12 string!!! I am rarely drawn to sunbursts but this sure is a Fantastic looker.

Way to go.

Might have to try it out myself! Need to dig into my Gordon Lightfoot catalogue.

Here’s a peek at the back.

First impressions are: “Why aren’t we all playing twelve strings?”

Thanks Dan, you should try this out. I’d love to hear you play “Old Dan’s Records” on this—a match made in heaven. (Except for the “old” part.)

Kevin, Tom, thanks guys! What I like about a burst is the way it makes the pearl *pop*.
