Back to the original post, there are lots of choices. I agree with many of Tom's points that the OM models are fantastic all-around guitars (E6, E8, E10, E20, and now the E1, E2). They're great for finger style and can handle strumming just as easily.

Eastman offers their three core models in the 00 size (E10, E20, and the SS), but added three models for a limited run (sold out, but you might still find one online). The 12-fret models compensate for some of the sustain and low end you'd usually lose with a smaller body size. And if you're concerned about volume/projection, the 00 that I own is just as loud as my OM guitars.

I think it really comes down to determining which body size (OM/000 vs. 00) and tonewood combination is right for you. Also, you mentioned a wider nut, which would rule out the three LTD and Varnish models.

Good luck!

Default Eastman OO, OO Ltd, OOSS or OM

Hey my friend if you’re interested I have a used E10-OO-SS (excellent condition, not dents, dings, bruises etc) that I was about to put up for sale for $850.

Old thread but...

For fingerstyle which would you look at? The E10 OO SS or the E10 OO? One has a wider neck and the other a narrower neck I believe. I sure like the SS after watching a video demo from Ian Meadows. Wonder if the neck is any narrower than a Telecaster?
