She said that if I get rid of the other 20 guitars, I can have you build me one with this wood.

I posted a little something over in the general section about the fun we've been having during COVID. If you would like to see what we've been up to click over there.

Tonewood Test!

Yes, I saw that! Great idea ... I however did not partake for fear of getting them all wrong!

You guys did a great job of 'ahem' keeping all things equal

I am curious to see the results.

Nahil.

Mike, you've got a smart girl there. Listen to her wisdom.

You can have it, Burton. Only, it comes as an assembled instrument, so.....

Thanks for dropping by, Nahil. Go give 'em a listen, and you can keep your thoughts to yourself, but it will help create a more discerning ear and just maybe help in describing the sound you like.

Thanks all,

Steve

For those of you who don’t get over to the general section, we built three identical guitars - every piece consecutive cut and tested - except the back and sides. Then we asked people to listen to the blind tests and see if they could tell which one had Indian Rosewood, Honduran Mahogany, and Bird’s Eye Maple. I thought some of you might want to play along.

And then a second more technical video in potentially a different order. There are three tests: E chord, treble test, and strum pattern.

Generally people could tell the difference better in the first video which is a song with melody as opposed to listening to the less song-like second video.

Something to think about.

Didn't see many guesses. Guitar 1 - Rosewood, 2. Maple, 3. Hog

Ok so I got tempted to put down my 'educated' guesses :P

1. EIR.
2. Maple.
3. Honduran Hog.
