One of the youngest western singers you'll find.

I think somebody mentioned Darrel Scott's "Never Leave Harlan Alive".

As far as I'm concerned, Patty Loveless has the definitive version of this song:

I had the pleasure of finally hearing Courtney Patton live for the first time last Friday evening (along with two of my favorites, Kylie Rae Harris and Kaitlin Butts). She was awesome.

And Lloyd is one of the finest pedal steel players around, IMO. He is the master of the most simple (yet beautiful and perfectly played) steel. Here's an example:

Also a heck of a producer, too. He's produce many albums here in Texas, including the one that song is on.

Corb Lund does some good western music (amd some bad other music). Colter Wall is another one you should look up. His latest is more western focused.

Several years back, my wife and I hosted house concerts. Adam Carroll played one of them. He is a great guy, fine writer, and delivers the song. Lloyd Maines played our place twice backing Terri Hendrix. Lloyd is truly a musical treasure. Terri is another excellent Texas musician doing things her way, the right way.

Adam, Lloyd, and Terri are among the nicest people I've met. Gracious and cordial and down to earth.

Love her, especially with Lloyd Maines.

This is my favorite song of hers:

A friend of mine who lives about 10 miles away and hosts singer/songwriter nights in her home every 2 or 3 months has had them over several times.

And as you say, good people.

You ever heard of Davin James? I used to see him weekly when I lived north of Houston. He hosted a show where he would swap songs with another singer/songwriter. That's where I met guys like Hayes Carll and Adam Carroll for the first time.

I just ordered this shirt from Amazon.

Wish it didn't have the period, though.

Have you tried to remove it?

Or maybe a little indelible black magic marker could go a long way toward helping it go away.
