Default Kim Walker Jumbo

Got this guitar yesterday...

Kim Walker Jumbo in Excel trim
German spruce top
Maple back and sides...
Light as a feather and very responsive.
Has the expected clarity from maple.
Warm and big trebles...
Wonderful guitar....
Just wish it were a smaller guitar

The Jumbo w/ my SJ (Bearclaw Sitka/African Blackwood)

It's a lovely guitar. You'll have to post a recording!

Gorgeous guitars Dave.....

If the jumbo is a tad too big for you, I would be more than willing to take it out of your hands

Those are extremely interesting looking tuners! What are they may I ask?

Is that a 17" jumbo? According to his site he's not building them any more. How's the low end on it? I did the ceremonial first restringing of my SJ this week and got to play it in a big room. The low-end whomp was extremely satisfying!

Congratulations on your beautiful guitar. Kim's a wizard with maple!

Those are Grover Imperials... I used to have a mid 60's Gretsch Country Gentleman w/ the same tuners

The bass is already amazing even w/ light gauge... I'll switch to mediums on the weekend.

BTW, I prefer the size and aesthetics of your Walker SJ haha... The burst and size is just prefect...

Was aiming for a L-00 w/ maple b/s but someone beat me to it

A gorgeous guitar! Thanks for sharing it with us.

I think that's the only 17 jumbo flattop Kim made. Very cool.

Whew, what a nice pair! I thought because I'm getting older that I should be buying smaller guitars but I recently couldn't pass up a Gibson J-185N-TV and now that I've entered the jumbo world (thought my J-50 put me there but I was wrong) I get it. Jumbo guitars just have a whole other thing going on...and I like it. Your Walkers are just gorgeous.
