Default You've Got a Friend Cover

Hi Everyone!

It has been quite a while since I last shared any recordings. I hope you don't mind listening to this latest one.

As you may already know, this is a Carol King song that was also recorded by James Taylor.

Signal chain was as follows:

Voice: Blue Kiwi Microphone --> UA LA-610 Channel Strip --> UA 2192 AD/DA converter --> Computer w/ EMU 1212m soundcard --> Sonar Producer software

Guitar: Blue Kiwi and Peluso 2247LE mics into the Avalon AD2022 preamp --> UA 2192 --> Computer

This is an mp3 file.

Rick,

The clarity of your guitar on this recording is really amazing, your set up is great.

I would love to get a sound like that. (Wouldn't hurt to be able to play like that either)
I am getting a bug to be able to get a good recorded sound.

Very very nice work on this recording. Guitar does sound sweet - well played - nice cover of Taylor's style. Vocals as well. I'm not sure I could sound this well with your equipment but I'd sure like to try . Impressive recording. Mark

Thanks, I appreciate the comments! I am definitely thankfull to be able to afford the nice gear, now I just have to try to do it justice.

Whether it be through low end gear or highend gear, I always appreciate the effort that people put into recording and sharing their stuff on this forum. I apreciate the realness, the rawness, and the passion that it takes for anyone to seriously pursue music on this level. Funny thing: a good performance is a good performance, whether through a $2k mic or a $100 mic.
