Default NGD Eastman E1OOSS-Ltd

I went to check out the new Eastman E1SS-Ltd dreadnought, and it was a beast. This is a very special guitar. I didn't bring my Yamaha LL-TA with me, but I could immediately hear that it was more alive than my Yamaha. Maybe you wouldn't hear much of a difference in a recording, but you feel it when you play it.
I tried out the little OO, and I was decked by how much bass and vibrant beauty came from it. It also has a lively top.
Which one to buy? The OO was far more satisfying than my Yamaha CSF3M parlor which is going on Craigslist. To be fair, the Yamaha is quite a lot smaller. The Yamaha sounds boxy in comparison.
Now I'm thinking of buying the dreadnought and selling my LL-TA, but I would really miss the reverb. If Tobias gets the sunburst version, I'll probably pull the trigger.
A sound clip will soon follow.
What looks like imperfections in the back is lighting.

Congrats! This series is killer isn't it? I don't know how they did it but I'm so smitten with my E1SS-CLA-LTD. Like you said these are very lively and responsive.

I have an E10 00M and if I only could keep 1 guitar, this would be the one. Great tone, build quality and playability for minimum $ for the quality.
Notably better tone and sustain than a torrified Yamaha LS16 I owned for only a bit more $.

Playing this little OO after playing my LL-TA dreadnought, what is striking is the liveliness of the tone. The top really vibrates. There's a difference between a nice guitar and guitar magic. As soon as I strummed it, I had that wow moment.
The CSF3M parlor I own is very responsive, but it doesn't have the headroom I need for my much of my music. It's perfect for soft playing and blues, but even picking with gusto gets into distorted territory - perfect for bluesy stuff.
I might have to get the Eastern E1SS.

Congrats on the new Eastman! As I mentioned on another thread, the Eastman LTD models are really amazing. But glad you found the 00, which spoke to you. Enjoy!

I agree with your assessment of the CSF3M. Great guitar but maybe too lightly built. I’m trying to find it a new owner...

So wonderful. I've been listening to them on YouTube, and the only thing preventing me from a purchase is the 1 11/16" nut😭 if it were 1.75" it would be on its way to my home.

Enjoy it in good health, and play till your hearts content.

FWIW

my newly acquired E1SS LTD has an

actual nut measurement of 1.715

I think every Eastman dealer should have calipers on hand

oh...and congrats OP!

I don't have calipers, but the neck on the Eastman feels just perfect for me. The top on this guitar really vibrates and sounds sweet. The bass is surprising for such a little guitar. The low E sustains nicely across the neck.

Anyway, I hate recording myself. Whenever I see the red lights flash on the recorder, I get nervous. But I recorded myself noodling around a little on my new guitar. The strings are a week old, and I do make less mistakes when I'm not recording. But this will give a little sense of how the guitar sounds.

The first chords would be more difficult for me to do on my Yamaha because of the thick neck and perceived wider nut width and longer scale length:

F#m13: x 9 11 9 10 7
C#11: 9 11 9 10 7 x

Again, I'm embarrassed by the sloppy playing, but here is a tidbit.

I have the dreadnought in sunburst on order from Tobias Music.

To the OP:

Congrats on your new guitar. And thanks for posting your thoughts and soundbite.

Few questions for you,

1. Is this guitar bigger than a parlor?

2. Does this guitar do well for strum and sing?

I'm beginning to feel that dreads and GA are too big for playing comfort, and this one is really nice from what I've seen on YouTube reviews.
