Tonally it has a good tap tone with a lower main frequency. We are still a month away from hearing it strung up. |

Sanding the body and bindings flush with one another:
Rounding over the sharp corners on the bindings: Most luthiers would notice Mary squatting under my arm pit to get a shot like this, but I've has grown quite accustomed to Mary being in my way There is still a lot of hand sanding to do, in tight areas that power tools won't access: |

I would think that sweet little gal would need at least one more sample to fully assess the consistency of the batch?

very interested to see your finishing schedule on the curly redwood top of the tele. I just finished a curly redwood archtop, the flame is about the same as yours, and did a red/brown to yellow sunburst using dyes hand rubbed over a shellac seal coat. I was able to enhance the flame a bit, but nothing I tried really got it to pop. Looking forward to see what you do.

This piece of curly walnut will end up as the pick guard.
Trying to decide on natural or a bit of stain on the Olive wood. The right side is just shellac and the left side is wiped with a bit of vintage maple stain. The stain brings out a bit more grain definition of the slight amount of curl in the wood. Our customer opted for the stain: |
