Inexpensive Bluetooth Speaker?
Any suggestions for a bluetooth speaker to use with my laptop. I'm often listening to Spotify on the laptop and would love something that would project more. Maybe $100 tops?
Thanks

I just got this one recently. I use it with my laptop to hear my guitar lessons better and it’s fantastic for streaming my backing tracks and Spotify playlists from my phone.

For my laptop, I use a set of bose speakers that are ok, but dont compare to this. Over the years, Ive owned most of the Bose soundlinks, big to small, but this new micro is a game changer. I have no idea how they engineered this, but it has the bass response of at least a 6 or maybe 8” speaker. I was playing this in my office, and the nurses would not believe this is what was spilling into the hall.

I have a Bose tabletop radio that has good bass for the small drivers and they use a serpentine tunnel behind the speaker to artificially enhance the bass response. It's a great radio, but really expensive for what it is. |

Inside, outside, in my truck it always sounds good. Heck for a year or 2 I used it as a small PA monitor via the 3.5mm input. I’ll bet that Micro would sound as good as my older model and still hit your budget! |

I have always liked the UE Boom and Woonderboom bluetooth speakers.

Ok, I'm over the top now. Need to make a decision from so many good choices.

I’ll add to the confusion. I bought this one
https://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Spe.../dp/B07XVFB67J I liked it so much that I bought another one, the two can be linked, and the sound they produce in the 10x20 room I use them in is just unbelievable. |

It's interesting how many of these speakers list "stereo" sound when the fine print lists a single driver inside them. You cannot obtain stereo sound capability with a single driver in a bluetooth speaker.
Those single driver speakers detail how to add a second for "true stereo" if you dig deep enough in their marketing advertisement. I've got two ears and appreciate actual stereo sound. Many of these units have higher priced models that actually have multiple drivers and play true stereo with a single unit. Just be aware of what you want and what you are actually purchasing. Many of these units require reading the fine print to discern what they actually do. It's obvious that many users are looking for "loud and full bass" as their only listening prerequisite, and the manufacturers play that up in their advertisements. |

A little over budget at $140 (2 speakers): https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...bluetooth-pair
I like the wired version ($100) and use them as laptop monitors. D.H. Last edited by Dave Hicks; 06-12-2021 at 01:54 PM. |

There's some Soundfreaq sound kicks on Amazon right now for $30. Older tech, but they sound fantastic--ysed to be over$100. Absolutely a steal at $30.

Most of the "bluetooth" speakers that have been recommended in this topic can be connected to many devices that have a 3.5mm (1/8") audio output jack. It's part of the reason I chose the Creative bluetooth speaker, as well as plenty of volume, good bass, and easy to carry around from place to place. I'm using the output jack of the DR-05 recorder to the input of the Creative D100 below. The new version of that speaker (HERE) would be very similar, but with built-in rechargable lithium ion batteries. Last edited by Rudy4; 06-12-2021 at 05:09 PM. |
