Tanglewood X45NSE -- Thoughts and opinions wanted
Recently, in my ongoing search for a nice quality ($500-$750) Grand Auditorium-style guitar, I came across the Tanglewood X45NSE. It's features are:
Top: Solid Cedar Back: Solid Mahogany Sides: Solid Mahogany Neck (Material): Mahogany Fingerboard: Techwood Bridge: Walnut Binding: Maple Saddle (Width): Bone, Compensating (72mm) Nut (Width): Bone (43mm) Scale Length: 650mm Machine Heads: Chrome Grover Finish: Vintage Amber Satin Eq: Fishman Presys+ Strings: Elixir 16052 Phosphor Bronze Case: Includes Deluxe Abs Hardcase I'm not able to get my hands on one locally (and although it looks great, looks--as we all know-- don't necessarily translate into performance), so I hope to get some input from folks here. Fit, finish, tone, playability--anything really. It's only competition at this point is the Alvarez Masterworks MF75SCE--another cedar-topped ( but rosewood instead of mahogany b/s) model. If anyone has experience with both, all the better... Thanks in advance! |

Tanglewood
I recently found a Model TW45NSB for traveling. The guitar has been a nice surprise. It feels substantial and plays well. Grover tuners. Fishman pickup and electronics are good too. It lacks the depth and projection of a dread or jumbo, but at this price point you can't go wrong.
