Default NGD: Yamaha LS56 Custom

Well today is the day i receive a serial number 030 LS56 Custom guitar made by Hiroshi Sakurai, Yamaha's master luthier in Japan. Getting information about him is really hard, from what I can gather, the L series is divided up into three different locations. All L series except the 36 and 56 models are made at the factory. The 36 are made by 10 or so apprentices and the 56 is made by the master.

Engleman spruce ARE process, this top grain is consistent and zero runnout. The EIR has a bit of a curve, so the tree must have been on the windy side of the grove.

Sweetwater and I have been going around the delivery wagon for months on this one. All in all, it is about 2 years to get here. I cannot say enough about the sweetwater engineers help and I recommend using Sweetwater.

Anyway, Sweetwater sent me these professional pictures of the guitar and here they are. I will post a clip once she acclimates and I play her.

Thanks for looking.

I was going to say, how did you even GET one haha. Almost never in stock or for sale anywhere. Good to hear that sweetwater can get them.

The 56 series is definitely one of my holy grail guitars, and Engelmann is one of my absolute favorites, a blend of cedar and spruce tonalities with a beautiful blonde color that doesn't seem to turn as orange over time, more of a honey yellow.

Looking forward to hearing some samples once you get it acclimated!

The binding is actually made from white maple i think. Yea some beautiful wood that never turns yellow.

Did you receive it yet or only the photos?

I have an instrument from the same builder that i got from @scotchnspeed, who got it from @eljay.

Congrats!

It's odd that he signs his name using Latin alphabet?
