Default Danny Ferrington guitars

So have a nice small/travel acoustic guitar made by Danny Ferrington. Looking under the hood, you can see his signature, a number? and who the guitar was made for. It is a bit of a challenge to read as its backwards using a mirror and everything is in his handwriting. She is in great shape with a very cool, back/sides, however no idea what kind of wood it is. This is not a Ferrington/Kramer configuration or model. Very cool guitar and wondering if anyone has any idea about the guitar or what it would be valued at? Hope pics upload!!

Cool guitar.

One of my favorite coffee table books is the large format trapezoid shaped "Ferrington Guitars" book with the accompanying CD of several noted artists performing on his instruments.

It's a good read and highly recommended to anyone looking for inspiration for building instruments.

His building style is somewhat unconventional, and use of things such as bolt on necks using pocket structure on acoustic instruments doesn't have a lot of adhearants. His "one hour guitar" owned by Ry Cooder is probably one of the more notable of his creations.

Danny F. definitely had his own thing going - arguably the father of the Talman/Stratacoustic/Telecoustic...

Thanks for posting that! It's a great talk by Danny and I had not yet seen it. Great insight into what makes Danny tick.
