Bob Bennett, Chicago, etc
Just received in the mail the new Bob Bennett CD. He plays a Kevin Ryan, but for many years, he recorded with a 1985 810. Excellent album, and I'm somewhat surprised at how his guitar sounds like a Taylor.
On the tube the other night, I saw a (recorded) live concert with Chicago. The guitar player used what appeared to be a 555 on several songs.

Yep, that was a 555 Chicago was using. Also, Bob Bennet has been using Kevin Ryans guitars for awhile, he is a close friend of Kevin Ryan. I saw Bob play at our church a few months back, in fact I ran his CD table, and he told me that Kevin is buiding him a new guitar. Bob is a great player and singer, and to top it off he also seems to be a great guy

I love Bob Bennett and his music. He has the greatest lyrics, he is a great guitar player and I love his singing voice. I've seen him about 5 times. Mountain Cathedrals is awesome live. His first cd, Carpenter Gone Bad goes for close to $75, if you can find it. I have every album, every cd and his only music book. He does backgroung vocals on a Billy Crocket cd, I think it is called Watermarks. Did I mention that I like him?

Another big Bob Bennett fan here!!!
Been listening to him since about '82, got his new CD about a month ago. I've seen him three times: at a local Vineyard Church a long time ago, then w/ Michael Card and at a small "private" concert at Compassion International. I thought his current guitar had a bright sound similiar to a Taylor also . Michael I thought his first CD was titled "First Things First" ? |
