That's what I do ... leave off that low C sharp. I seem to have short fingers for some reason. When I attempt chords that call for a reach I try to do them on my short-scale guitars, such as my Jaguar.

X4535X is easier and just as effective and moveable. Standard shape for a dim7. The other one is xx2323. No need to double up any of the notes.

Right, which means you can always choose the best position for leading from the previous chord to the next - because that's the purpose of dim7s, to create at least one half-step move to the next chord.
