Default Laurent Brondel A2 Brazilian German Build Thread 2020

Howdy Folks, the time has come for another Brondel build thread...!!! Laurents work has continued to fascinate me over the years, I've owned 2 guitars from the used market, and I custom ordered 2 of them four years back... I'm now having 2 A2's made, both German Brazilian...different scale lengths... different appointments...

I'm not really hoping to achieve anything that different with these compared to any of the others I've owned, its just REALLY fun to build guitars... this is my hobby and obsession in life! Laurent has become a friend over the years, I've made some Brazilian rosewood trades with him, and I built his Wife's Wedding ring, so we have a cool back and forth thing going on... The tone, playability, aesthetics and vibe i get while I play a Brondel is off the charts. So yea, Laurent builds amazing guitars, and gets them to me when he says he will

Brazilian #1 Burl Trims, Ebony fingerboard and Bridge, Black Mother of Pearl Alessi Tuners, 25.6 scale...

Brazilian #2 Snakewood Trims, Snakewood fingerboard and Bridge, Snakewood Alessi Tuners, 25.4 scale...

Headstock design...

Heel cap design with matching end graph....

Rosette and top trims design....

Inspiration for snakewood guitar...

I'll now start sharing what Laurent emails me as I receive updates... He just started and I have a few pics so far...

The sides for #1 didn't match that good after sanding and were switched for a better pair...

Congrats Dave. Looks awesome so far! Your Brazilian sets are primo, but I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

I will certainly be following this build thread with anticipation.

I have played a couple of Laurent's guitars. They are superlative in every way, and the wood you chose is beautiful. I am looking forward to following this thread.

Oh man... DiamondDave... You're living your best life!

Looking forward to seeing this one come together, and if she's as awesome as the last one, well, that's just not fair.

Love to hear your thoughts on the German vs. Adi. All the details in Brondel appointments are incredible.

Awesome thread, awesome builds. Congrats Dave! And all the more given you are pretty much a family member at the Brondel household.

This will be a fun pair to follow, thanks for sharing it with us!
