I typically don't have a need or want to push my guitars to the volume limit. But when my friend played my small collection of guitars, he felt that my Froggy Bottom M did the best job when it came to volume, composure, and clarity. At that time I was using GHS Bright Bronze Lights on all of my guitars.

What is the loudest guitar that you own or have played? Ok
Archtops are the loudest. Though not much bass.
Same for the gypsy jazz ones. |

I'll go with my guitars and a quick two-headed answer: 12 string - 458e-R Taylor Grand Orchestra 12 string, sitka over rosewood. 6 string - 818e Taylor Grand Orchestra 6 string, sitka over rosewood. Both are X-braced guitars. Got a couple others in contention, but the Grand Orchestras' lighter build carries the day. And the 458 can be an instant 'wall-of-sound' instrument. Don .
