I agree that sports are most likely doomed if they don't have a bubble, but how would a bubble even work for the MLB? First, unlike the NBA, they can't eliminate teams that have no shot as the season just started. Secondly, they have triple the amount of people per team as the NBA, and thirdly, stadiums are a lot larger than NBA arenas. What facility has the capacity to have many stadiums and housing for all those players?

IIRC they were looking to use spring training facilities in Florida and Arizona and have the Cactus and Grapefruit leagues compete in their respective localities. I’m unsure of whether they were electing to use just two facilities or at least have the two leagues isolated in their own facilities in their respective states (with no inter league play at all) but as I said that discussion was dismissed early enough that the details were likely not even discussed.

Yes, I think it's the players that messed up any chance for this to succeed. They could have had 3, 10 team bubble cities, or something like that, where your season only consists of playing teams in that bubble.

More positive cases for the Cardinals. Now the double header scheduled for today has been cancelled.
It's unfortunate.

Florida Marlins players didn't follow the rules - they went to the hotel bar a week ago in Atlanta and some players left the hotel. Look what happened - 18 Marlins Players have now tested positive.

Red Sox starter Rodriguez is now officially out of the season because of the heart issue he has as a result of covid he got before the reboot. I hope he heals - he has potential.

As a huge b'ball fan, this is so frustrating. I blame the Player's Union for the mess and unfortunately, this season is going to crash and burn. Maybe the NFL will learn from this.

Yeah. I admit I miss sports in general and baseball has a heritage that unfortunately is being blighted. It’s a shame because I have some good memories taking my kids to baseball and hockey games. Not this year though.

+1. Now doubleheaders are only going to be 7 innings. I hope if it gets to the point where it becomes a carnival side show that the season is cancelled.

I'm less interested in MLB this year and I'm glad the NHL is there to back it up.

I don’t see this season going much longer but I am looking forward to a Reds double header today. Gloomy rainy day here in south Florida. Plus it allows plenty of time to kick around on the guitars

I'm fairly confident the NFL will learn nothing from this. They are making it up as they go along. I wouldn't be surprised if the season doesn't make it out of September.

Hey Kerbie - MLB just announced the postponement of the 4 game Cardinals-Tigers series.

Looking to the positive (and I'm not a Yankees fan), Aaron Judge has hit at least 1 HR in 5 consecutive games. And Yastrzemski (Carl's grandson) is batting .343 for the Padres.

So I guess the winner of the World Series will be determined by the team with the fewest players testing positive. A "novel" approach

Red Sox have already blown the season. Not having their top two pitchers for the season is devastating.

I'm one of those guys who stopped watching MLB and any other pro sport many years ago, but I just can't see 2020 going into the books as anything resembling a "season"...it's a clown festival fiasco...

I don't know, Dru... not much to be positive about in STL.
