Default Best Input Jack Cable?

Hey y'all,

Just wondering if there is a male to male input jack (from guitar to DI Box) that you think gives you better sound than others.

It'll be running through a K&K Trinity System with the K&K mixer. Thanks!

Edit: Any objections to the Mogami?

No cable will give sound better than others, but some are more prone to breaking, failing, and having poor shielding problems resulting in crackling, static and unwanted noise. Mogami are very very good. And Neutrik connectors are some of the finest available.

I like the mogami/neutrik as well.
About 20 years ago i bought a monster cable
for an acoustic guitar. it was 40 dollars.
Guaranteed for life . At the time i thought
that it was really expensive. I gig about 4 times
a month. i have returned this cable 4 times in
20 years. The 5th time was today. The cable is
now 79 dollars. But at 40 dollars that's 8 dollars
per cable it cost me. And as long as i hang on to
it ..and monster is in buisness ..it's a superb deal.
The cables are top notch.
I make my own
as well You can buy neutrik connectors and
mogami cable in bulk and can build guitar cables
pretty cheaply.. if you can solder.

This one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...&condition=all

At that price, it will make you sound like Tommy Emmanuel even if you've only been playing for a month!

I get my cables from Redco Audio. They do custom cables; should be able to get anything you need.

My go to is Mogami wire with Neutrik heads. I estimate ~25 bucks for a 10 ft cable from Redco.

Hope this helps.

Neutrik are good, easy to find connectors, but I don't find them 'the best', G&H plugs are far better, and so sturdy that you'll find difficult to break one even if you try.
Lava cables are very good, but a you won't hear so many differences between a 'good' cable and an esoteric and expensive one. Most of my cables are self-made,semi-balanced (for the shielding effect) cables, and I have yet to broke one in 15 years.
Also, stay away from 'silent' plugs, they're not very reliable.

Hmm. I love the neutrik silent cables. Never had a problem with either of mine that I have been using for the last couple of years of gigs and open mics. And they are PERFECT for OMs.

Indeed silent plugs are very useful for situations like OMs, but the spring has a life far shorter than the rest of the components. I have yet to completely broke one, but all the ones I've tried have become 'loose' in a degree that when I plug or unplug the cable, in not silent anymore XD

Not true.

Different cables have different capacitance, which has a different EQ/resonant peak depending on the level of capacitance. That includes cables of the same brand, but different lengths.

This could have a good, or bad, effect on your tone depending on what you want.

Saying no cable will sound better than others isn't just an opinion you get to have, it is scientifically measurable, and audible.

I'm a big fan of the Klotz cables. They are great cables.
Reliable too.
