Default Mis-Marked Martin

I have a Martin OMC160GTE that I bought new at a music store in Tulsa several years back. I decided to upgrade to a D-28 and found that my 160GTE is actually a OMC 16 GTE with a OMC-160GTE label inside. Has anyone come across this issue before?

I did a quick search and the extra 0 (or O?) seems to refer to a variant that had Roland digital modelling preamp in the electronics.

Is yours regular Fishman?

I once had a Taylor 514C that had a 514CE label in it.

A rare Taylor to not have electronics. I guess the proper label is even more rare.

The O in the model number is a letter O to represent Ivankal used on the back and sides with rosewood in the middle as these models came with 3-peice backs.

Original poster indicates in Reason For Editing that he'd added pictures.

The Google Drive-stored photographs failed to appear, embedded.

That's because Google no longer allows folks to directly embed images housed in the personal Google Drive storage space--at least not through the urls available on the publicly designated viewing pages.

But, there's an easy workaround.

Images the poster attempted to embed directly from files stored in Google Drive:

Saw a guy playing in a trio of strings at the Sunday farmers market. He was playing a ten-year-old Gibson Songwriter Deluxe with the cutaway and electronics. A lot of nice abalone inlay work in the fretboard, blingy look in the rosette and the top binding. Spruce top finished with a little aging, rosewood sides and back.

He called it his Miss Gibson. I thought that's what this thread was about, blingy decor.

Musical impersonation.

Did it sound any different when the truth was revealed?

Life is complicated, but it shouldn't have to be this complicated.

I had to read the OP's post a couple of times to see the title should have read
Mis-marked Martin.

can we put a sticky with the workaround instructions? I come across many many threads where the image is broken and maybe this would help keep that eye candy coming!

OMC-160GTE or OMC-16OGTE label?

If it's a capital O, then that is the label for an Ovankol guitar. Nice guitars, 3-piece back with contrasting rosewood wedge.

Which would be clearly, 100% wrong.

If it's a 0 (zero), then I do believe that was a designation for a Roland amp instead of a Fishman.

I once bought a Martin HD16R-LSH from an online dealer. (nice guitar, btw) When it arrived, the inner box had an official Martin factory label that said "O-42 Robbie Robertson Proto". I was thinking, "oh boy, oh boy, oh boy - I'm gonna have a lot of fun playing this thing before I return it..." But as it turns out, the dealer was just recycling the carton - inside was the guitar I had paid for. I did, however, cut that label off and keep it.
