PSA: G&L Tribute series ASAT special edition
Heads up for anyone looking for a Tele-style guitar on a budget — G&L have a special edition Tribute series ASAT model out there right now with a street price of $350.
The one I played was really nice and looked, played, and sounded like a more expensive guitar. Granted, I wouldn’t take it over my Baja Tele (which looks, plays, and sounds like an even more expensive guitar), but at a $350 price point the G&L really seemed like a great guitar. Not sure if that price includes a gig bag or not. The guitar I played had Tele-style alnico pickups and a two-piece maple neck/fretboard with a satin finish. If you’ve got a local dealer that carries G&L, have a look next time you’re around and give one a go. |

Im not familiar with that model but I will say I love my G&L. Mine is not stock, yet imo the tribute build quality is very very good.

I bought it before I bought my Fender DeVille 410. So when I was amp shopping I took it with me. I also played every USA made ASAT they had at the shop (this shop has at least 20-30 used G&L guitars and basses at any one time) and I couldn't really see that much difference, with the exception of one exceptional '91 Blond ASAT Classic signature model with a rosewood fret board, which I made an offer on (and I guess he didn't accept cause he never called me back and it was gone a couple weeks later). So I am happy with it. I also only paid $225 for mine, including the G&L gig bag. I got it as NOS from a small shop.
