Boss VE-8 Questions

Bought one of these a few weeks ago, and have gigged it a few times. It's a good unit that has enabled me to leave my mixer home for solo gigs.

I have a couple of questions
1. In Manual mode, when pressing the TYPE button under the Chorus, can the effect change to the other options, delay, phase etc. On my pedal it just stays at chorus. If I am in Memory mode, pressing the button will change the chorus to delay, phaser etc.

2. Once you save a Memory, can u alter the settings in that Memory.

I emailed BOSS with these questions 2 weeks ago and nobody has gotten back to me.
