Default My cardboard classical is buzzing

G string.

Hmmm.

I put it in the Seagull's case with a sponge-in-case and a D'Addario soundhole humidifier.

Let's see what happens.

I'm joking. It's an all laminate $99 Lucero classical. I'm going to talk to Santa about a solid top

Yes, I noticed the other one doesn't list the body depth after I posted.

Ditto this!

And a man who owns an Avalon is worthy at least of the C9/10 series, if not the C12. Or, for a snappier more flamenco sound... a GK Pro.

Mrs Santa locked in the budget for the gift, a C5. Lol. I'm ordering it tonight, woohoo!

Open string or fretted notes? Could have dried out a bit. What's the string action like at the 12th fret? Could be time for a flat toothpick or two under the saddle.

If it's open string, try a little scrap of thin paper (like the kind a string comes in) under the string at the nut.

Jeff, I'll see what happens after its been humidified for a couple, three days. Its a fretted buzz, only on the G (I I didn't test every string on each fret though). Good idea about lifting the string, thanks.

Nothing wrong with that! I picked up a C5ce spalted maple a few months ago that holds its own against my GK Pro just fine. I took both to my last gig, and only played the C5. The GK Pro is a better guitar, but not by a lot. Diminishing returns and all that.

A couple of days humidified and the buzz is gone. The guitar still smells like a dried out attic so back in the case it went with re-moistened sponges.
