Going to California
This one took a bit of work. I mostly hybrid pick, and this is my 1st attempt at a fingerstyle arrangement sans pick. It took longer than usual to work up, and I'm still trying to slap that thumb into submission, but I thought it turned out not too bad. For a first go anyway.
Guitar is my Gibson L-100 Nick Lucas. Hope you like it. (Arr by K. Valleau but I changed it up quite a bit) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hi4G...ature=youtu.be Last edited by jklotz; 09-15-2020 at 05:23 PM. |

This song is a gig staple of mine but my version is oversimplified compared to this. Nice take on a classic, thanks for sharing.

Thank you. To me, the guitar and mandolin parts are so intertwined in this song that I had a hard time separating them. I did my best to try to incorporate them together. Your version or mine, still a great song. I don't know why, but for some reason, the song makes me think of fall.

Steal away! It's in what I call "double drop D" btw. Both low E and high E are dropped to D.
