Default What's Mick Jagger playing? A CF?

In this terrific live performance of Let It Bleed. https://youtu.be/q3q4lxWpV48

It's some type of Ovation.

Most likely an Adamas, which was a high end Ovation. Great sounding CF guitars that were really big in the 80s.

It's an Adamas for sure. I had a '79 Adamas (Ovation's premium models). The fancy veneer around the sound holes, along with the carved headstock and bridge are typical of the line. Walnut fretboard, actually was quite durable.

I knew that Ovations has composite backs and sides but were they carbon fiber?

I believe all the "bowls" were a composite fiberglass. Most/all of the Ovations had wood soundboards. Adamas back in the day had a carbon graphite (or something similar) soundboard.

The Adamas features a top of carbon fiber/wood veneer/carbon fiber laminate. That makes the top very thin, yet strong too.

Check out the way the electrics sound on this version and the way the acoustic sits in the mix instead of having the plastic sound of the Adamas. Keith's Gibson sounds really good on this one!

I believe that the bowls were made of something Ovation referred to as “Lyrachord”.

Out and about today, we saw the only rock group that's been together longer than the Rolling Stones...

Yeah, I know: back in my corner.

These were serious high end guitars. Nancy Heart played them during that period, she looked a lot better with it?

Steve;

Good to see you in this neck of the woods (har har). It has been a while, nice to see that you're still here. You're right, some people look better with an Ovation than others.
