Default Another fun shipping video from Emerald...

Lots of cool guitars in this week's video...

Watch for the 2 custom Kestrals (both nylong) at the end. And the note: "No, we aren't doing that kind of custom work now." Definitely one-of-a-kind... even a center soundhole with a couple very cool side sound ports.

That pair of Kestrels is pretty special, isn't it?

(Darn it, I'm English by birth - I should know which one is right!)

Also, I really liked the blue X20-7 - makes mine look very plain. It was also good to see someone else go for a coloured carbon top (in this case, red) with black back and sides. It's the only other one I've ever seen like that besides my X20-7.

The Kestrels are phenomenal--genuine collectors items.

I need to stop watching these videos! This is the best marketing plan ever devised.

I agree best marketing video ever.

That video was shot at least 10 days ago. My Amicus was in there and it left the barn last Thursday and has been with me since Wednesday.

Yes - they didn’t post one last week, so it sounds like they skipped.

More importantly, how do you like your Amicus?

Still trying to decide if it is a keeper, only had it 2 days. Having fun, I think it plays better dropped a step. At pitch it seems pretty highly torqued, but I am used to guitars mostly.

Been eyeing an X7 also.

They are tight, aren’t they? Imagine capo’ing your guitar at the 6th fret, and then tuning up 4 steps. That’s a heck of a lot of tension.

I’ve taken mine down to C-c, and agree that it seems to play a little easier.

BUT… I’m also well aware that it’s not really a guitar, so it’s probably not reasonable to expect it to feel exactly like one. I’ll try B-b, but I can’t help feeling that I’m missing the point going that low.

Regardless, my playing partner will not now allow me to use anything else on Friend of the Devil or Ripple, so I guess I’ll persevere

Is it just me or did that first blue X20 have an unfilled hole for a possible second output jack? 🤔

Or a drain hole for foul weather duty.

Not just you....

I assume the buyer intends to add his own choice of pickup, so asked for the pre-drilled jack hole.
