I've looked at this one to for a couple months. I've wanted a solid wood mahogany back and sides dread just for something as a change of pace from my 2004 HD28. I cannot find any video's either. I've also looked at Elderly's Farida Old Town Series OT 65 X Wide VBS slope shoulder dread..I've seen a few video's of this and it seems decent.

Alvarez MD60BG...real nice! Very resonant (thin finish), loud and factory set up is great.

I don't know if mine is a bluegrass but I have an MD60. It would take a lot to get it out of my hands. It's a pretty awesome guitar.

$500 and the specs of a D-18?

I am very impressed with the Alvarez guitars I have played at the local shop here, Gator Music, and will see if he has one of these to try.

I am sure that it is a fantastic guitar. I have it's Japanese, Adirondack topped counterpart the DYM60HD. Stunning.

I've posted this here before but in case some didn't see the post, I played a D-18 recently and then went home and played my MD60. They sound pretty close, so close, in fact, that it killed my desire for a D-18. I bought it used but there is not a mark on it.

Do you have any idea how old your MD60 is. The ones made up to 2010 or 2011 were awesome. That entire Masterworks series was I had a MD60 I bought in 2003 and a MD90 bought the same year. Why on earth I ever sold them I’ll never know just younger and dumb I guess.

The first two digits indicate the year made: 2014.
