I had a Yamaha LJ6. Yes I know, its just a solid top, but I took the pickguard off, did a little setup and I loved it. I had wanted to get another guitar during that time and my wife suggested I thin the herd a bit. So I gladly sold my Epiphone Masterbuilt, but reluctantly sold the LJ6.

But I got a Yamaha A3M for $499 (New) I sold it a year later for $425 Now they are $900 dang!! |

Haven’t regretted a sale yet - if I ever end up selling my Gruhn D-21 I could see myself regretting that one though. It’s a complete tone monster - the perfect Martin sound. Unfortunately it has a boat neck. I can get along with it OK if I’m ‘on my game’, but it is the least favorite neck I own. So far the tone has kept me motivated to deal with it!

Most disappointed in any guitar you sold.
Easy. I traded away my 1972 Guild F112 for some POS Kingston 6 string instead of getting the bridge reglued and a proper setup done. I was 13 and my parents were furious. Obviously I didn’t deserve nor know how to take care of a good instrument.

When I sold my 1962 original Jazzmaster for $200.00. Granted it was many years ago but it still hurts. Someday I haope to replace it with a reissue.

I sold a 1999 Santa Cruz OM/PW I bought at TME in 2000 after having it for almost ten years....I still think about that guitar.

I regret selling 2 guitars. The first was a Gibson I got in a pawn shop in 1960. It was my third guitar. Not even sure what the model was. My first (Stella,) and second (Harmony,) guitars I don't miss at all. The one I REALLY regret selling was my Martin D12-20. I sold it 10 years after I got it when my first repair shop was going under. Paid off a few child support payments, and got a cheap guitar. That is the only one I would love to get back.

A couple for me but the one I think about most was a John Walker Lolo Creek sunburst I sold here on the forum. Came close to buying it back once and waited too long and missed the chance. Made up for it a good bit by getting a JW Petty Creek this year but loved that first one!

Not acoustic but there are a few electrics I wish I still had. All G&L. Had onw of the first
F-100 series II's from 1980. Also had one from '81. Had a 1989 S-500 got from the wall in VP Dayle Hyatt's office. I played allot of S-500's that day. This ones tone was massively different. Mr. Hyatt said Leo Fender used the guitars on the wall to try out different pickup windings. so prototype |

This is a tough one - but I think it would be a 1930s rebuilt Supertone done Vintage Parlor guitars. I tried to buy it back last year, but it did not work out. It was small, quirky, and had limited usefulness, but the mahogany was beautiful and it did sound nice for certain things.

I guess I'm lucky that I've never sold a guitar that I later wished I had never sold... I'm considering selling one of my guitars, but I think I may regret it so I'm holding on to it!

But the biggest regret was letting go of a late 60's Gibson EB-3L bass. One of the slotted headstock ones. I'll tell ya, that was one thunderous bass! I loved it. And this was long before anybody knew what these would be worth some day. I think I got something like $300 for it. LOL! But I needed money to keep my wheels on the road. These days I might choose walking, but in my youth, wheels were everything! |

When I was a kid...many years ago, you got a new guitar when you sold your old one. Most everyone I knew had only one guitar. Times have changed!! I have 5 guitars now (and a few great amps). I look at them and think how lucky I am and remind myself...except for a total catastrophe, never sell any of these.
