Default The Pickers who Pick Collings

Here’s a blog I wrote about some of my favorite pickers who play Collings guitars! Who are your favorite Collings artists?

Off the top: Pete Huttlinger (RIP), Conor Oberst, Joan Shelley, Lyle, Julian Lage, Chris Eldridge, James Elkington (Waterloo), St. Vincent (Waterloo)...

There are hundreds if not thousands of excellent players rocking a Collings these days!

Phoebe Bridgers is playing a Waterloo these days. Jeff Tweedy has a ton of Waterloos. Anthony da Costa plays a Julian Lage model Collings and a Waterloo as well I believe.

Adam Aijala (Yonder Mountain String Band) is certainly the one I've spent the most time listening to

They are all my favourite guitars.

edit : and a Waterloo WL-12 in 2016 ! (How could I forget!!)

btw - thanks for the heads up rjathon!

Yep! Collings is closing in on 35,000 instruments in circulation, so the idea that at least a couple thousand are in the hands of capable players isn't *so* far fetched! I would even argue that it's highly likely!

Julian Lage, of course, and Peter Huttlinger and Chris Smithers who were already mentioned.

But Kenny Smith and Sarah Jarosz are pretty awesome too.

Let's toss Tyler Childers into the mix, too.
